  • How does Free EV Miles work?
    Any electricity you use for charging your Ford EV between 7 p.m. and 12:59 p.m. is free, including TDU Delivery Charges. For bills with usage in the discounted time periods, you’ll see a Free EV Charging Credit on your TXU Energy bill. The discount will apply only to usage in the discounted time periods.
  • How do you know when to give me free charging? 
    We use your existing account with Ford and your EV’s charging data to tell us when to give you charging credits. We partner with Ford to connect your EV charging data to our billing system. You’ll receive an email after you enroll with simple steps to sign in to your Ford account and authorize Ford to share charging data with us. It takes less than 5 minutes.
  • What EV models are supported with this plan?
    2021 or later Ford EVs and Plug-in Hybrids, including the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning and Escape PHEV with an active modem and an active Ford account are eligible.
  • Do I need to have a special home charger to be on this plan?
    No, you don’t need to have installed a level 2 charger to be on Free EV Miles. In fact, if you have a level 1 charger, this is a great plan for you because of the length of time you can take advantage of free charging, since level 1 chargers take longer to fully charge an EV battery.

  • When will I get my bonuses?
    After you connect your EV, use the link on your confirmation page to visit Ford’s Rebates Center and redeem your $100 reward card. Digital cards take 4-6 weeks to process. You can check your card status here or call Ford at (800) 392-3673.

Your privacy is our top priority. TXU Energy will not share your telematics data and will use it only to determine your Free EV Charging Credits. After enrolling your EV on our telematics connection platform, you may withdraw your authorization for TXU Energy to access your telematics data at any time; however, if you do so you will no longer be eligible to receive Free EV Charging Credits for charging your EV. 2 This plan provides a 100% discount off of Energy Charges and TDU Delivery Charges for electric vehicle (EV) charging that occurs at the Service Address between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 12:59 p.m. every day of the week.  Any EV charging that occurs at the Service Address outside the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 12:59 p.m. will be billed the full per kWh Energy Charge and TDU Delivery Charges. The discount for charging your EV is determined using your EV’s telematics data. To receive the Free EV Charging Credits, you must complete the account linking process to authorize Ford to share your vehicle's data with TXU Energy. If you do not enroll your EV on our telematics connection platform, you will not receive Free EV Charging Credits for charging your EV. You must provide a valid email address to enroll in this plan.

 

3 Must be enrolled on a qualifying plan and authorize Ford to share your data with TXU Energy to receive $100 prepaid debit card from Ford. One card per household. Cards lost or stolen cannot be replaced.

 

4 Your $250 Reward bonus will be mailed to you after one year of being on this plan. Customer must be in good standing, not pending cancellation, and remain on the qualifying plan at time of reward processing to receive bonus. Reward is fulfilled with a prepaid Mastercard®, subject to terms and conditions of card issuer. TXU Energy reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute a check of equal value for the prepaid card, and to otherwise modify or cancel the program at any time.
